Never known to back down from a fight, President
Bush is again demonstrating that same non-compromising stubbornness
in the John Bolton U.N. appointment fight.

All of this, even though some conservative senators don't like Bolton
and along side the democrats, refuse to end the filibuster until the
Bush administration releases some secret documents.  When asked what it
would take to end the filibuster, Trent Lott said '...simply for the
White House to release the documents requested.'

What is in these documents that makes the Bush administration so reluctant to release them?

Yesterday, White House spokesman Scott McClellan claimed that they have
released all of the information THAT THE SENATE REQUIRES.

'We've continued to make a good-faith effort. The Democrats clearly aren't interested in more information,' McClellan said.

Hey
tool, that wasn't the question.  It isn't up to you to decide what
is and what is not enough information.  Not to mention, you have not supplied all of the requested information.  Liar.

Turns out, President Bush may place Bolton as a recess
appointment, even though that would severely undermined the U.S.'s
position in the U.N. and further polarize the Senate. (Washington Post)  Doesn't matter, it's what Karl, Dick and George want... damn what's good for the country.

This unmitigated arrogance that President Bush continues to exhibit,
even in the light of obviously being wrong, should be a deep concern to every American.

Rick SantorumMove over Mitt. Rick Santorum is the real winner of the Iowa Republican caucuses.

The GOP in Iowa announced it has certified the results of its first-in-the-nation  Jan. 3 caucuses, and the former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania appears to have squeaked out a win over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination and the guy who was initially thought to have won Iowa.

Santorum described his 34-vote margin as a decisive victory. "This is a solid win. It's a much stronger win than the win Gov. Romney claimed to have,'' he told reporters.

The initial, uncertified results from Iowa showed Romney had won by just eight votes. But just to keep this in perspective, Santorum's margin of victory was a less than a tenth of 1 percent of the 121,503 ballots that were cast in the Iowa caucuses. Or, as Romney described it, "a virtual tie."

On we go to South Carolina, and the rest of the primaries.

3. Prison Abuses on Good Muslims By Lance Winslow
Well we have certainly been reading a lot about prison abuses. Many of us in the Western World are completely outraged at the media leak of the photos at Abu-ghareeb. It is a horrible travesty that those photos were shown on the Internet and TV where prisoners were involved in sexual activities with their Arab Brothers in compromising homosexual and adultery affair activity. What a complete low point in their lives to be publicly humiliated for their activities in the prison. We should not ex…

4. Don't Look At Me, I Voted For The Other Guy
Have you ever noticed, when things are going wrong, that no one ever actually voted for those in power? It's amazing. Six months after a unanimous internal election (in which I was the scrutineer) I had at least six people assure me that the candidate's later defection wasn't their fault. They'd seen his faults from the start and voted for the other guy. Was the election a fix? Should I demand an enquiry? No. I dealt with every ballot paper myself. The actual result wasn't announced, just the wi…
