It is so easy for America to find one person to place the blame for events or happenings within our country, such as our President, and not only our present leader but those in the past as well have suffered this same fate. We fail to look at the entire spectrum before us, or should we say 'behind and before us'.

This was brought to my attention and I thought you might be interested in this forgotten bit of information..........

Recently, at a lecture, playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration, the year was 1987.

Being questioned by a Senator, getting the third degree, Oliver North's words a shock!

Senator: 'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?'

Mr North: 'Yes, I did, Sir.'

Senator (amusingly): 'Isn't that just a little excessive?'

Mr. North: 'No, sir.'

Senator: 'No? And why not?'

Mr. North: 'Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.'

Senator: 'Threatened? By whom?'

Mr. North: 'By a terrorist, sir.'

Senator: 'Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?'

Mr. North: 'His name is Osama Bin Laden, sir.'

Senator (trying to repeat the name Osama Bin Laden, but failed to pronounce it. Laughter at the Senator's attempt): Why are you so afraid of this man?'

Mr. North: 'Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of.'

Senator: 'And what do you recommend we do about him?'

Mr. North: 'Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.'

Senator disagreeing with this proposal, the clip ended.

The Senator: Al Gore!

Another Past to Present:

Terrorist 'Pilot' Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called 'political prisoners.'

However, the Israelis refused to release prisoners with blood on their hands. In term as President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, 'insisted' that all prisoners be released.

Therefore, the 'Pilot', Mohammad Atta was released and eventually boarding a US airplane and flying into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorist were first identified. Of course, we all know he had to have felt extreme guilt for his actions against the country that 'insisted' upon his release.

Later, all reports relating to this incident were censored in the US.

The curiousity within me questions: How many will continue to refuse reality? How many will fight against the realization because they need that one person to blame, that one person in which to distribute all their fear and anger? When will they accept that there are many more to blame, many more shoulders to carry the burden?

1. Government Overregulation of Broadcast Content Could Backfire By Terry Mitchell
Rush is right! The government's stepped up bid to regulate broadcast television content is indeed frightening. Limbaugh made his comments during one of his regular radio broadcasts last year. Those remarks were in response to the FCC's crackdown on broadcast indecency and Congress' threats to hand out much larger fines to broadcasters for such violations, in the wake of Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at the Super Bowl halftime show last February.Limbaugh is the not only media personali…

2. Hypocrisy Abounds: The Bush Administration's Manipulation of the Constitution
I'm starting to wonder why no one in the Democratic Party is challenging the GOP on their hypocrisy when it comes to their stance on the Constitution, when it comes to the warrantless wiretapping by the NSA that was authorized by President Bush..  They claim they want strict literal interpretation of the Constitution, unless the president wants to interpret Article 2, Sect. 1 to give himself the power to wiretap US citizens without a warrant.  Please allow me to explain how ridiculous the Bush a…

3. Illegal Immigration And The Catholic Church
I am a Catholic. I am also, however, against illegal immigration. I believe that we should clamp down harder on illegal immigrants and we should do more to protect our borders. Churches, whether they be Catholic, Protestant, Jewish or other, however, have a different duty, in society, than governments, police departments and citizens. A church's duty is to help people without regard to the person's past or current standing. After an interview with Cardinal Mahony of the Catholic Church, the Los…

4. Middle East Peace Is An Oxymoron
The phrase Middle East and the word peace are so contradictory that when put together they become an oxymoron. An oxymoron, as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary, is 'a rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined'. There are very few things in this world that are more contradictory than the words 'Middle East peace.' As long as there are Christians and Jews in this world, the fundamentalist Islamic Arabs will never allow peace. The Koran states, under 5:5…
