We have all seen the political positioning and the media fanned flame of blame game for the response to Hurricanes Rita and Katrina. We have seen everyone from the janitor of the Superdome to the President of the United States blamed for the weather. Even though we all know good and well that Hurricane Season comes once every year and that we are in a perhaps three decade severe Hurricane Cycle.

Everyone knew that New Orleans would someday be hit by a big Hurricane, it was not a secret, in fact in a practice study and research program a fictitious “Hurricane Pam” wiped out the city. Yet the city built underwater took no heed of such warnings. If we are to disrespect the surface of the planet and deny the forces of Mother Nature then she will teach us a lesson.

I propose since we are such a completely inept nation of pretenders that when reality strikes and knocks us back into next week from our LA LA LAND decadence, that we figure out a way to save all those folks who live in denial. I propose that FEMA invest in some super size blimps, which can float over flooded areas. These blimps can be instant communications stations, rescue platforms and supply warehouses to help folks in their time of need. It is not like we do not have this type of technology, we already have some on order for the military.

Lets face it if everything is flooded, all the roads are out, rail service caput, power no longer and no airport for 300 miles open, then doesn’t it make sense to float in 50 light weight boats with rescue crews and supplies. Hurricane Katrina taught us a lesson. Those who do not evacuate near the coast will be in a world of hurt for many days, without help and we need a better plan and better equipment. Think on this.

President Barack ObamaThe numbers are in, and they're not pretty: President Barack Obama's State of the Union ratings from earlier this week were the lowest of all four of his annual addresses to the nation.

The decline is remarkable given it's an election year and his renewed call for passage of the controversial Buffett Rule, a new tax on millionaires.

Fewer than 37.8 million Americans tuned into the prime-time address, which was broadcast on 14 networks, according to Nielsen, which provides detailed analysis of consumer viewing behavior and demographics. That's down 13 percent from his State of the Union address a year earlier. About 26.6 million households, or fewer than 1 in 4, watched Obama talk about the state of the nation.

So how do Obama's State of the Union ratings stack up against former President George W. Bush's? Former President Bill Clinton's? Read more ...

I moved back to Fort Wayne five years ago. I moved back to Fort Wayne to raise my family. I want to do my part to make America a better place for my children; I do not think anything is more important then that. I feel that America has made some very bad decisions in the last 84 years. In 1920 Franklin Roosevelt started 'The New Deal' and the government started growing. In 1920 total government spending was about 4% of the Gross Domestic Product. Today, total government spending is about 40% of …

2. PALS in Pakistan Part Three – Why Transfer PALS to Pakistan? By Teve Torbes
Pakistan is not unique among nuclear powers in its lack of permissive action link technology. Both China and India also lack PALS. Pakistan does, however, pose a unique risk of loss of control over its nuclear arsenal. While any country that possesses nuclear weapons would gain security benefits from installing the technology, Pakistan’s current lack of an established command and control regime makes it an urgent case for a U.S. transfer of technology.Pakistan faces several challenges in creat…

3. Pilot-Less and High Speed Train Transportation Systems; Better Strategy Needed By Lance Winslow
We recently saw another ferry accident, this one in NY when the pilot of the vessel fell asleep, which may have been a medical situation or condition, but never the less, accidents like these would be prevented by pilot-less transit systems. This would be no problem with modern technology. We know in the future this will be an accepted method and fully safe.Today we will see a union propaganda road show with the media incited fear in our citizenry to protect their jobs through a blocking of th…

Eh? I can think of scores of reasons to move to Canada (or opt for the Mexican Riviera) . . . any place but Babylon the Great: The USA. Or, how about the whole hedonistic culture of greed, avaricious appetites, and super sizing all things godly and ungodly—from Hollywood to Mega Churches; indeed, ours is a “city set on a hill which cannot be hid” but the closer…
